We believe that the wearing of school uniform is part of the discipline and ethos of the school; it reminds the child that they are ready for work and gives them a sense of ownership and pride in themselves and the school. The school uniform is a simple style and the majority of clothes can be bought at competitive prices in most retail stores. Items that bear the school logo and are specific to The Cathedral School can be bought from school via the PTA.

GIRLS Winter uniform

White school shirt, short or long sleeved suitable for wearing with the school tie*
Grey skirt/pinafore dress (knee length)
Grey trousers of approved design (no stretch fabrics)
School red jumper or cardigan*
Knee length grey socks or grey knitted tights. If wearing trousers black or grey socks are acceptable
Black sensible school shoes, with a sensible heel
Winter coat plain black or red  (no other colours are acceptable)
Red fleece optional (school design only, not to be worn indoors)*
School winter woollen hat*
Hair accessories plain red or black only(simple style)

BOYS Winter uniform

White school shirt, short or long sleeved and school tie*
Grey trousers
School red jumper *
Grey or black socks
Black sensible school shoes, with a sensible heel
Winter coat plain black or red  (no other colours are acceptable)
Red fleece (school design only, not to be worn indoors)
School winter woollen hat*

GIRLS Summer uniform

Red and white gingham dress
Grey skirt and white revere collar short sleeved shirt* (Year 6 only)
Red jumper or cardigan
White socks (grey socks for Year6)
Sun hat*
Black sensible school shoes, with a sensible heel
Note: No open toed sandals.
No responsibility will be accepted for accidents caused as a result of wearing non-uniform footwear.


BOYS Summer uniform

Grey trousers(Year6) or shorts and white short sleeved school shirt, school tie*
School red jumper*
Sun hat*
Black sensible school shoes

PE Kit - Girls and boys

Tee shirt in house colour*
Black shorts*
White sports socks*
Black or white trainers (velcro fastening for Infants preferred)
School red sweatshirt*
Black jogging bottoms*
Black one piece swimming costume - girls
Black swimming trunks (no shorts) - boys
School swimming hat*
Swimming bag*
PE bags must be large enough to store all PE kit

Book bags and rucksacks are available from the PTA.
Any other bags must be black or red and be a sensible size

Jewellery

For safety reasons any jewellery is very strongly discouraged.
A watch and one pair of plain studs in pierced ears are the only pieces of jewellery allowed.
Jewellery must be removed for PE.            

All items of clothing and other possessions must be marked clearly.

Notification will be given in the Newsletter of dates when Summer/Winter uniform should be worn
