School Uniform

We believe that the wearing of school uniform is part of the discipline and ethos of the school; it reminds the child that they are ready for work and gives them a sense of ownership and pride in themselves and the school. The school uniform is a simple style and the majority of clothes can be bought at competitive prices in most retail stores. Items that bear the school logo and are specific to The Cathedral School can be bought from:

PTA second hand uniform shop (email pta@cathedralschool.essex.sch.uk for further details)

One Stop School Gear, Unit 2, Beehive Lane, Chelmsford CM2 9TE.

Telephone number 01245 214084. You can also purchase items via their website:-https://www.onestopschoolgear.com/cathedral-school

Some items with a logo are required  as listed below.  This includes the school jumper, tie and PE T-shirt.  All other items are not required to have a logo.

We ask that hair longer than shoulder length is tied back neatly for hygiene reasons.  We ask that children do not come to school with patterns, logos or designs shaved into their hair; braided hair should not contain coloured thread/ ribbon and should not contain beads; Plain red, white or black hairbands, bobbles or small bows are permitted but colourful alice bands and large hair accessories should be left for the weekend.

Any children not adhering to these rules may be asked to change their hairstyle

We have had some children returning from holidays with added hair extensions or brightly coloured braids plaited into their hair.  We would ask that these are all removed before returning to school.
