Can I write recognisable letters, most of which are correctly formed?
Read the story ‘The three Billy Goats Gruff’. Were the goats polite to the troll? Write a letter to the troll asking if you can cross his bridge.

Phonics Can I read words consistent with my phonic knowledge by sound-blending?
Phase 3 phonemes ear and air. Look at the letter sounds, find items and write words containing these letters. Can you make a sentence with any of the new words you have discovered?

Maths Can I verbally count beyond 20, recognising the pattern of the counting system? I have a deep understanding of number to 10, including the composition of each number.

Expressive arts and design Can I make use of props and materials when role playing characters in narratives and stories?
Think about the Troll in the story, what does he look like? What features does he have? Make a troll mask, thinking about colour and features, add lots of detail!

Understanding the World. I know some similarities and differences between things in the past and now. Can I explore the natural world around me?
Think of where the goats want to live. Can you make a landscape for them by using things you collect outside? You can use sticks, grass, leaves, and flowers. Make it as inviting as you can for the goats.
