Literacy

 

Can I write recognisable letters, most of which are correctly formed?

 

Write a sentence or two about something you did over the weekend that you enjoyed.

 

Read ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=mSnCBQ1bd1E

Talk about the story and what happens. Who are the characters?

Where is the story set? Are the characters good or bad? How do they help each other?

Why do you think the elves made the shoes for the shoemaker?

What did the shoemaker do to say thank you? Pretend you are the shoemaker.

Write a thank you card to the elves for everything they have done. Why must we say thank you?

 

 

Phonics

Can I read words consistent with my phonic knowledge by sound-blending?

 

Phase 3 phonemes ure and er.

Look at the letter sounds, find items and write words containing these letters.

Can you make a sentence with any of the new words you have discovered?

 

 

Maths

Can I verbally count beyond 20, recognising the pattern of the counting system?

I have a deep understanding of number to 10, including the composition of each number.

    Baptisms

     

    Can I understand why we are Baptised?

    Talk about your own Christening and what happened, do you have any photos?

    Think about the different symbols in a baptism, candles, water, Godparents.

    Draw and label a picture of the different things we see at a baptism.

    Can I negotiate space and obstacles safely, with consideration for myself and others?

    Can I move energetically, such as running, jumping, dancing, hopping, skipping and climbing?

     

    Can you make a pattern of different movements, perform your routine to your family.
