Literacy

 

Can I write recognisable letters, most of which are correctly formed?

 

  1. Write a sentence or two about something you did over the weekend that you enjoyed.

Talk about the story and how it must feel to be lost.

Think about the forest, what things might Hansel and Gretel see there?

Write a list of some things Hansel and Gretel would see in the forest.

 

 

Phonics

Can I read words consistent with my phonic knowledge by sound-blending?

 

Phase 3 phonemes th and ng.

Write a list of words using these phonemes.

Pick a word and write a sentence using the word, think about sounding out and spelling words correctly.

 

 

Maths

Can I verbally count beyond 20, recognising the pattern of the counting system?

I have a deep understanding of number to 10, including the composition of each number.

Use 9 cubes to show how the number can be partitioned.

Practice making 9 in different ways and writing the number sentences.

    Can I describe what happens at a wedding?

     

    Talk about any experiences you have had of weddings and think about what happens at a wedding.

    What might you see at a wedding (flowers, dress, party, cake, bride, groom, bridesmaids etc)?

    Imagine you are Hansel or Gretel walking through the forest, think about how you would move, would it be fast or slow?

    Would you walk low to the ground or high up? How would you follow the trail back home?
