Literacy

 

Can I write recognisable letters, most of which are correctly formed?

 

  1. Write a sentence or two about something you did over the weekend that you enjoyed.
  2. Read ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDMWJCrDVMI and think about all the characters in the story. Choose one character to describe, can you think of different sentences to explain what the character is like.
  3. Think about the Wolf in the story. Create a ‘wanted’ poster with a description of the Wolf so he can be found!

 

 

 

Phonics

Can I read words consistent with my phonic knowledge by sound-blending?

 

Phase 3 phonemes ai and ee.

Write a list of words using these phonemes.

Pick a word and write a sentence using the word, think about sounding out and spelling words correctly.

 

 

Maths

Can I verbally count beyond 20, recognising the pattern of the counting system?

I have a deep understanding of number to 10, including the composition of each number.

 

Watch Numberblocks https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bn5bpz/numberblocks-series-3-numberblock-rally and think about subtraction from 10.

Draw a bus with 10 faces in it. Imagine every time it stops a different number gets off, how many passengers are left?

Can you write a number sentence to show these calculations?

 

Practice counting backwards from 10.

Can you draw/make and arrange the numberblocks in descending order?

 

 

 

Expressive arts and design

Can I make use of props and materials when role playing characters in narratives and stories?

Use your toys at home to act out the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.

Think about the setting in the story. Can you paint a setting picture for one of the characters?

    Can I explore the natural world around me?

    Can I manage my own basic hygiene and personal needs, including dressing, going to the toilet and understanding the importance of healthy food choices?

    Can I show an understanding of my own feelings and those of others, and begin to regulate my behaviour?

    Weddings

     

    Can I describe what happens at a wedding?

     

    Ask your parents if they have pictures of a wedding you could look at.

    Discuss all the different people you see like the bride, groom and bridesmaids.

    Look on the internet with an adult and find out some information about one of the royal weddings.

    Can you use your toys to act out a wedding ceremony?

    What promises do the bride and groom make to each other?

     

     

    Physical development (PE and handwriting)

     

    Can I negotiate space and obstacles safely, with consideration for myself and others?

    Can I move energetically, such as running, jumping, dancing, hopping, skipping and climbing?

     

    Make a hopscotch and practice counting to 10 and back by jumping on the numbers squares.

     

    Practice forming the graphemes ai and ee, use Letterjoin to help you, maybe you could join your letters.
